Where can I find some good maps and to which directory do I install them?

Let's pretend your quake directory is located here: C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake\

So then you put any additional maps into the maps directory located here: ..\Quake\id1\maps\

I was hoping to find out which maps are preferred for deathmatch. I usually like city/street kind of maps Thanks
