I was blinked while playing a normal game at Shmack, no camping. The blink occured while i was in a battle with another player and was blinked into a battle going on between 2 other players. Naturally from being blinked, i was a little disoriented and couldn't even defend myself against the other two players. Lost a nice pack and RL, which for a HPB is hard to get at any fo the RQ servers when there are a bunch of other players playing.

Now my question is, if there is a problem with me playing at these servers, tell me now and i'll stop playing at them. I'll stay at IHOC or quit Quake entirely, if that's what some of you admins want. Just let me know.

Are you sure someone didn't use the switch rune? I don't even think the Admin Blink is used at Rune Central. Other then the switch perhaps you dumped and picked up without thinking in the haste of battle and ended up with Blink?

There is never a problem with anyone picking whichever server they want to play at.. Unless your botting on Rune Central your chances of being kicked or banned are next to nil. ;Þ Camping is allowed here. But your spending time on Rune Central or any other server does not influence your ability to play anywhere else..:) Play where your comfortable.

Blinking is not an admin feature on Shmack, nor has it ever been. Also, when you blink (via the rune), you do not lose your weapons or pack. I think Pita is correct; it sounds as though you were the victim of the switch rune.

You are more than welcome on our server, quake.shmack.net.

It couldn't have been the switch rune because I was blinked to an entirely different area of the level. I didn't have the teleport rune, and I didn't lose any weapons or pack until one of the two guys fighting killed me because I blinked right in between them.

As far as I know the player with the switch rune has to be in the same map area and see you, and you switch places with him not go to an entirely different area closed in by walls and ramp like I was.

The map it happened on was where the floor goes up and down from a switch on a wall and there is an elevator that goes up and seals a little room and under that is the transport to red armor. I was there fighting and the next thing I knew I was fragged by the two guys in the area where that big ramp is with the green armor at the top and then doorways one to the left of the ramp and the other to thr right of the ramp.

Sorry I don't know the name of the level. I wouldn't make a big deal except on other rune servers when I first started them I would camp a bit and TLTQ admin there would blink me. And sometimes he would blink me just for a joke even when I didn't camp, just to aggravate me. When this happened that same admin from the TLTQ happened to be in the game with us. I thought he did it, but he claims he is not admin on Shmack.

All I know is I was blinked because as stated I know what teleport is and I know what blink is, they are different.

If that's the case, you were not on the Shmack server when this happened. It is impossible for the admins (or any player) to blink you because this feature isn't available in my source code. Since the source code is available to the public on the downloads page, other server operators have the freedom to make changes to the code and add features like having an admin blink players.

I apologize for your inconvenience, but blinking a player is just not possible on the Shmack server.

Thanks,

Ok, sorry I bothered you with this, maybe it was just a server burp or something. It just seemed strange that it happened with a TLTQ admin there and he has done that to me many times in the past. Like I said he has done it joking around before and it gets my panties in bunch... again sorry to bring this up here... and thanks Slot Zero and Pita for your replies.

None of the admins at Shmack (myself included) would ever harass someone like that. Everyone is free to play there without a hassle. Though some other servers may have overly strict rules and consequences this is not the case at Shamck.

Agreed! I don't admin here.. I play here because I LIKE it :) Testing admin functions need to be by invitation.. Normally done between admins not players. Sometimes "jokes" go to far.. Mostly out of boredom.. Your more then safe here Mysteri :) Post here anytime as well Mysteri!
