Joe, where did you get those vibrant textures like in your "MTV video-like" AVI movie of you and other Quake players doing high skill stunts like triple rocket jumps, etc. Do you have a download location for 1 or 2 of your favorite texture files? I will then post instructions on how players can get them up and running. ----- images from Joe's AVI movie |

you can either download the FuhQuake installer from http://www.fuhquake.net that contain most of the textures I used or try the Quake Retexturing project's page http://www.quake.cz/winclan/qe1 to get all kind of high resolution textures |

Joe, next time you stop in, could you explain how to use textures in JoeQuake so I can document it and provide links, etc. I downloaded FuhQuake to get the textures, but I have no idea on how to use them. What folder do I put the textures in? Are there any other settings? |

Yeah, i should've created a detailed documentation about this... I didnt thought my engine will get this popularity create a "textures" folder in your id1 or joequake directory and copy/extract all textures there. There are further possibility for gropuing textures: /textures/bmodel - brushmodel textures, like health boxes, shell boxes, etc. /textures/model - alias model textures, .mdl's /textures/<mapname> - textures for given map, example ztndm3 |
