Rune Central

I played 3 or 4 games of RuneQuake last night and the server had alt weapons off when I showed.

No gas grenade spams all over the place. It felt like real Quake, but with a faster pace and the strategic extras runes can provide.

For the first time in ages it felt like real Quake with what Artifact added to the mix.

Versus, say, some Scoffer like dude hanging from the ceiling above the LG on the start map throwing gas grenades, and then more gas grenades, and then maybe some more gas grenades.

Reminded me of the old days.

I guess I wouldn't mind the no-alt weapons... but no runes or hook kinda sucks.

My only beef with alt-weapons is I can't fuckin turn them off, because when I want to use the RL "Roll my mousewheel up" as that is where its bound, and I always end up with a fn 1-2second delay from the alt-weapon RICOCHET Rockets, so I have 1-2 seconds of "CANT SHOOT".


I would very much enjoy a server-side option to disable Alt-Weapons for MYSELF only. This would turn the tides everytime I got to fight someone with a RL and can shoot the damn thing as expected.
