, I also wanted to say that if you do not have any friends available to play with you, can download this mod which has bots to play against integrated with runes - called the RuneBot.Yes and it runs on any Quake map. You can download extra maps from the web and load them into Quake after initiating the RuneBot by typing map <mapname> command into your drop down console [~] -> tremendous fun and replay value.
Start it by creating shortcut and editing it for the Quake executable to point to that folder, i.e. Quake.exe -game RuneBot.
